SEO Conversion Rates: Is SEO Really Helping To Improve Your Conversion Rates?

Many marketers think that the overall outcome of search engine optimization or SEO is to improve your visibility in search engines and increase the traffic to your business/website. In fact, these are just stepping stones to the main goal of SEO which is to improve your conversion rates. How can you make use of SEO to improve your conversion rates?

This should be one of the key goals of all businesses out there. They should use a good SEO service provider who knows how to increase your conversion rates using search engine optimisation. It is easy to know if SEO is helping your business or not. If Search engine optimisation is directing qualified traffic to your web page or website, you should see an increase in your conversion rates. On the other hand, if it doesn't help, you will see a decrease in your sales over time. These are important analytics that will help you learn about the quality of the overall Search engine optimization strategy used in your business. This read offers an overview of how you should use Search engine optimization to improve the conversion rates of your business.

The conversion rate is measured by the percentage of clients who complete a call to action or CTA on your web page. If the client goes on to purchase your product or service after they have landed on your web page, this helps improve your conversion rates. In fact, SEO and conversion rates are directly related to each other. The primary goal of Search engine optimization is to send highly effective and targeted traffic to your website so that conversion rates are improved over time. Your Search engine optimisation provider has a vital task in this regard. He or she should see that extremely targeted traffic is sent to your site when performing Search engine optimisation. This is where social media marketing comes into play. Social media marketing has two advantages. One advantage of social media marketing is that it helps rank your website higher in the search engines. Google sees social signals as an important part of their ranking algorithm. Hence, the more social media interactions your website/web page has, the higher it will rank on Google Search engine ranking page (SERP's). On the contrary, social media marketing also sends quality and targetted traffic to your website. The traffic you received by social media networks is already browsing for your products and services. Hence, they will quickly convert compared to other traffic sources. That is why social media marketing is so effective in improving your Search engine optimization conversion rates. If you have still not allocated an advertising budget for social media marketing, you should do it immediately before your competition does it. Your SEO needs a check-up from time to time to make use of the best practices to improve your conversion rates. There are many questions that you need to ask yourself when doing this check-up. First, put yourself in your visitor's shoes, and ask these issues. 1. Is the website visually appealing, user-friendly and easy to navigate? 2. Is your content related to the theme of the website? Is it of the highest quality and engaging at the same time? Do you use high-quality images and videos other than plain text? 3. Does the website have an easy checkout process? 4. Does your site work on more than one device such as mobile devices? Also, try to reduce the bounce rate of your site by engaging the visitors who arrive on the site. High-quality content is the best way to do this. In fact, Google keeps track on how long people are staying on your site when ranking it higher on their SERPs. The longer the visitor stays on the website, the higher it will rank in the SERPs. These are important things to consider when you are looking to improve your conversions through SEO. In conclusion, search engine optimization helps increase the traffic and online visibility of your site. But these are not the only goals of SEO. In fact, a good SEO strategy should contribute to improving the conversion rates of your business. In fact, this should be the final goal of any business. A good conversion rate brings in more sales and profits in the long run.

How to rank your website with link exchanges

Free link exchanges got my web site to the first page of Google
and link exchanges can do the same for any web site.

A couple of weeks ago one of my web sites, BarrysBeanies.com, was ranked number 34 on Google for one of my most essential keyword phrases "Beanie Babies."

I was determined to get my web site on the first page of Google
searches for the keyword phrase "Beanie Babies."

About that time I had been sent an email from Sean Burns,
SEO expert and the author of Rankings Revealed - How
to Get Your Site to the Top of Search Engines. The information
provided was exactly what I required to get back on the first page of
Google for the keyword phrase "Beanie Babies."

I learned from Sean that there are basically two options to get
a high rank on Google (or other search engines) for your web site keyword phrases.

Option 1

Do free link exchanges with other web sites that have the same
theme as your web site. You can target any keyword phrase you
want to increase your rank with. This is important, the title text
link you exchange with other web sites or blogs should be the keyword
phrase you want to target.

What I also love about free link exchanges is that you can
target one web page (or website) for lots different keyword phrases. So once
you get the rank you want for one keyword phrase then you choose
a different keyword phrase to focus on and use this new keyword phrase
in the title text link that you now exchange with other web
sites.

It is also important to try and do all your free link exchanges
with web sites that have a high Google Page Rank.Try to get
link exchanges with sites with a PR3 or higher. Web sites with a
higher Page Rank are viewed by Google as being more important/relevent
and links to your web site from these high google page rank sites will help
you more than doing link exchanges with a site with a PR1 or PR2.

Here is a copy of the e-mail I give to other web site owners to
ask for free link exchanges with.

----------------------------------------------------------------
Hi,

I wanted to see if you would like to do a free link exchange with me.

Many of the top search engines use reciprocal linking to rank
your web site/web pages. In order to have high ranking in google
you need links pointing at your website.

Here is my information:

Title: Beanie Babies
Description: You'll find 499 different styles of Beanie
Babies at BarrysBeanies.com. Many at 59% off retail. We
also wholesale Ty Beanie Babies.
URL: http://www.BarrysBeanies.com

Please send an e-mail to BarrysBeanies@aol.com after you place
my link on your site with the URL address of where it
is located along with the information for your listing on my
web site.

Your info:
Title:
Description:
URL:

Once I receive your info I will place it on my Links
Page and I'll e-mail the URL address where you'll be able
to view your link.

Thanks,
Barry Stein
BarrysBeanies.com
----------------------------------------------------------------

Option 2

Optimize your web pages for keyword phrases. You will want to
target one keyword phrase per web page. If you have great
content and have targeted a keyword phrase then eventually
Google will crawl your web page and rank it higher.

You should really use both these options, but of the two I like
the free link exchanges best because I can quickly see the
progress I'm making.

Do free link exchanges actually work?

Well, as I stated above, my web site www.BarrysBeanies.com
was ranked number 33 for my most important keyword phrase,
"Beanie Babies."

I then started participating in free link exchanges. Prior to that time I
only had about 8 link exchanges on my web site with other
web sites. Now I have about 100 links and my rank on Google
for "Beanie Babies" is number 4.

So free link exchanges do work

ranking in the search engines is by far the most essential part to
overall Internet success if you have a web site. In factArticle Search,
it may be the most crucial thing you can learn how to do in
order to have a successful Internet business.

How to find keywords to target

A lot of people (including me) struggle to find keywords that are good to target. So, I decided to make this article to show you some simple ways you can find keywords to target. I hope you find this useful and enjoy.

Google Suggest

This tool is easy, effective and free! Google, is a very clever search engine and wants you to find good relative content. When you type in a word (for example cats) it comes up with all different long tail keywords that are related to that subject. In this case it come up with: "cats for protection" and "cats for sale". It does mention other keywords, however those were the 2 main ones. This tells you what people search for and gives you a good idea of what to target. If you the type "cats for sale", it will then suggest even more keywords. You can keep doing this until you find a good keyword phrase to target.

Semrush

Semrush is a great tool for analyzing competitors websites and keywords. At the click of a button, it can tell you the keywords and website is ranking for, for mobile and desktop. It is great if you need some insight into keywords to target and you can analyse thriving websites so you know the data is authentic. You can also find where the websites are getting backlinks from and you can copy those as well.

Google keyword planner

Google keyword planner is available to anyone with a google ad words account. It is highly accurate as the results come from google themselves and they know there search engine better than anyone else. It tells you keywords, how much they are searched for and the average price if you were to buy clicks for that particular keyword.

Copy other peoples keywords

Find a website that is ranking highly in the search engines for a good keyword. This can be done with semrush (or another website analyzing software/website.) Alternatively you can type in a keyword you would like to rank for. Then, scout out the competition, see how many words there article has (with a word counter) look at there images, layout, design and think if you can match any of that. If you can't, find another keyword and see if you can beat that, if you can then follow this simple method called The skyscraper SEO strategy.

A Crash Course in Search Engine Optimization

SEO (search engine optimisation) as a part of the web design and development process is one of the most confusing aspects of getting a web-based business up and running. Often confused with internet marketing, the design optimisation of your website for placement in search engines is a much more specific part of internet marketing and design.

In line with keeping online business simple, here is a brief overview of how to start your own website optimization process, in three simple steps. As with any simplification, there is the need to leave out a lot of relevant information, so this should be seen as an A-B-C tutorial. To get the most out of your website, follow this up with serious research, and preferably consult an internet business consultancy or search engine optimisation specialist.

Why search engine optimisation?

So first things first, why do you even need to think about search engine optimization? To start with, we need to understand how search engines work. As much as we'd love to have an intelligent person read our site and rate it highly for us, the sheer volume of information on the internet these days means that programs have to be written to search sites for us and, using intelligently programmed rules of thumb, rate the content for us. Although not infallible, most search engines have become fairly good at this function. The major search engines each have their own proprietary technology to match a searcher with the content they are looking for, but there are some key principles common to most of them. By understanding what a search engine looks at, and by focusing on making sure that search engines know what your site is about, you stand a much greater chance of reaching your target audience.

Where do I start?

As the saying goes, content is king. Make sure that the content on your website is good, and that your site is attractive and easy to navigate. Also very important is to be sure that your site has been professionally coded using standards-compliant code. This will ensure that when search engines do index your site, that they are able to do so unobstructed by problematic hacks, and at a high content to code ratio. As is usually the case, these same factors will make your site load considerably faster, and it will be much more people-friendly too. With those prerequisites in place, we can start our three step optimization process.

1) Identify keywords

Firstly you need to identify the key things your target audience is searching for. Let's say, for example, that your business specializes in online music sales. Start with 8-10 key search engine terms, for example:

music cds
music downloads
buy music online
online music store
buy music cds online
online music cds
buy music
buy cds

2) Create optimized content

Now you need to create content relevant to each of your desired search terms:

1) Create some new pages, one for each search term.

2) Make sure that each page contains the respective search term in the title. Don't overdo it though. As a rule of thumb, don't let your page title run over 80 characters long, otherwise it is likely to be trimmed to that length which could look strange in a search result. Remember that many search engines use this as the link text to your site, so make it attractive.

3) Update your page meta tags to include the search term keywords, as well as common synonyms.

4) Create your page content. Make sure that the content utilizes your key search phrase many times, and use each respective word in the phrase regularly. Focus on keyword density. In short, this means that the number of times the words in your key phrase, divided by the total number of words on the page, is as high a percentage as possible. Don't overdo this though, because a keyword denity over 10% is likely to get penalised. Generally, keyword density in the title, the headings, and the first paragraphs count most, and should be where you target the bulk of your keyword density optimization.

5) Above all, make sure that your page makes sense and offers real value to your intended audience. Many try to do the above at the expense of providing really valuable content on the page. This just results in a user closing the page as soon as they get there, which doesn't help your site at all, so be careful to make sure that your primary audience -- your site visitor -- is still king on the page.

6) Make sure that your images have "alt" tags that are relevant and contain as many of your keywords as possible.

7) Create the URL to your page in such a way that it includes your keyword term. So if you are creating a page optimized for "buy music online", you could set it up, for example, as www.mysite.com/buy_music_online . Once again, don't go overboard. The rule of thumb here is to keep it under 128 characters long. This has the dual advantages that it tells a search engine what the page is about, as well as making it memorable and intuitive for your human readers.

3) Be honest, Like most things in life, deceit seldom pays in the long run. Search engines are continually picking up sites that are trying to boost their rankings unfairly. All it takes is one person to pick up your dishonesty and report it, and your whole site could be banned indefinitely.

Always make sure that all the pages on your site are primarily there for your intended audience, and only secondly optimized for search engines. A big part of how search engines rank a page is by the number of links from reputable websites, and no reputable sites are going to link to a page that offers no value to visitors, or that is obviously there only to rank well in the search engines. A site that offers real value to visitors, that is well designed, well optimized and friendly to search engines is well on its way to growing its traffic.

On page SEO: Easy was to improve your website

On page SEO is a hugely important part of building a website with good SEO. Off page SEO can help, but if your content is not good, off page SEO is useless.

What is on page SEO?

On page SEO, is the optimising of your own website in order to rank better in the search engines. This could include editing your HTML, improving your website structure and so on. It can also be used to optimise an article for a certain keyword or phrase. It is important to have good on page SEO before you move on to link building (off page SEO.) Here are some tips on how you can improve your, on page SEO.

Unique Content- Content that is unique and relevant can give you a huge SEO boost. Google wants fresh content, so avoid using duplicate content or article spinners.

Contact/About me pages- These are great as you can put them together in a few minutes and you can then get them indexed. They are also unique and fresh so you can get a decent SEO boost.

Keeping your content fresh- Having fresh content and adding new articles regularly is very good for search engine optimisation, as it makes your site more relevant. If you have a website and you are trying to rank it, try making a blog as this can increase your traffic and page rank.

Bigger text, Italics, capitalising, bolding- A lot of people say that text that is bigger than the surrounding text is seen as more important. The same goes for italics, capitalising and bolding the text. However, don't over do this as it will work against you.

Spread out your content- If you have a page with a lot of content, consider spreading it across multiple pages, as short, focused pages can rank higher.

Heading tags- Place your keywords in heading tags, as google adds more weight to these words. They look like this: <H1> <H2> etc.

Keyword optimisation- Focus on one keyword/ keyword phrase per page as this can help your page rank better.

Keyword Placement- Place the keywords you are targeting at the start of your article. This doesn't mean that you should stuff them into 1 sentence, but include them in your first paragraph.

Alt Tags- Place your keywords in alt tags. Googles' spiders can't read images, but they do read your explanation of your images and you can give them a description via <alt> tags.

Secondary Keywords- Another important on-page SEO factor is secondary keywords. This is a very important on page factor as your secondary keywords can rank extremely well. Secondary keywords are even more important if composition for your main keyword is fierce.

Anchor Text- If you are internally linking your site (linking from one page of your website to another) make sure you use your keywords in the anchor text.

Target Questions- Lots of people search questions to find what they are looking for. Therefore, you should target questions with some of your content. A good way to do this is to use your question as anchor text when linking to other web pages on your site.

Off page SEO: How it works

Off-page SEO is one of the most important factors to ranking well in search engines. However, it is a very hard thing to do, so I recommend optimising your own website (on page SEO) the best you can before working on off page SEO.

What is off page SEO?

Off-page SEO is all about optimising your website, without actually doing anything to your website. It sounds quite weird to new people who are new to SEO, but it is and essential step to optimising your website. Off-page optimisation is a fancy word for getting backlinks to your website. Backlinks are links pointing to your website from other websites. It might seem simple, but that is not the case. The only way it becomes easy is if you have a lot of money to spend on off-page SEO and even in this case you still need some knowledge and a strategy. In reality, creating backlinks is a long road full of directories, social bookmarking websites and much much more. I hope this article helps you understand how off-page SEO works.

Backlinks

Backlinks are essential to any website. So here are a few factors that makes a backlink valuable. The main factor is the quality of the website you get the backlink from. If you get a backlink from a website that has a high domain score and trust score, that backlink is more valuable than a backlink from a website with low authority. The second factor is the number of links on the website. If the website has 100 links on it the links are given less weight. However, if a website has 1 link on it, that link is seen as more valuable. The following information is all about different types of backlinks and where you can get them.

Social Bookmarking websites

Social bookmarking websites are absolutely amazing. Firstly, they bring in a large amount of targeted visitors per day. Secondly, google see's this bookmark as a backlink and will give your site extra rankings. Not only this but they are very easy to do and if you don't want to do it yourself, you can bookmark your content for a cheap price on Fiverr

Directories

Personally, I love directories! They are simple to do and highly effective. I also love the fact that you can buy paid links or free links so you can use them even if you don't have loads of money to invest. Another great thing is the fact that you can submit links to your articles as well as your pages/homepage. This is good as you can get backlinks to all of your content. If you spend some money, you can also get some decent traffic. In my opinion, the best directory is Dmoz This directory allows you to edit how your site looks in their directory, allowing you to get more targeted traffic and better links.

PBN Links

PBN stands for private blog network. This is usually controlled by the person who wants to rank their site rather than out-sourcing it. This is because, PBN links are the most powerful links you can get, so you probably want to make sure you do them right. The most popular way to build PBN's is to buy up expired websites and edit them. You can then point links from your PBN to your website.

Social Signals

Social signals are not necessary to your link building but do help a lot. As you know social media dominates the internet, so google is constantly crawling social media. Having a few popular links on social media can help bring traffic and a nice backlink. It is recommended to have a few backlinks on each of the popular social media sites. Even if the links aren't popular, they can still help your website rank in google. One of the most powerful places to get social signals from is YouTube, as YouTube videos rank well and give you large SEO boosts.

Profile Backlinks

Profile backlinks are good for one reason, link diversity! If you have links coming from one type of website in particular, google will know this and your links won't be as powerful. Yes you can rank a website from PBN backlinks alone, but if PBN backlinks are a bit out of your budget, cheep profile backlinks are good. They won't help you rank but they give you great link diversity.
